Tennis racket weight guide
Racket weight changes how fast you can prepare, how stable the frame feels at contact, and how much control you keep when pace increases.
Lightweight rackets: under 285g
Lightweight rackets are easier to move and can help beginners, juniors, and doubles players react quickly. The trade-off is less stability against heavier shots.
Medium rackets: 285-305g
This is the most useful range for many adult players. It balances maneuverability, stability, power, and comfort without demanding elite timing.
Heavier rackets: 305g and above
Heavier rackets can improve stability and control for players with faster swings, but they can punish late preparation if the weight slows you down.
